Monica Bellucci was born on September 30, 1968, in Città di Castello, Italy.



While attending the University of Perugia, Monica modeled on the side to earn money for school, and this led to her modeling career. In 1988 she moved to Milan and got a good start in her modeling career. A year later she was greatly successful in Paris and in New York. Monica is one of the few Italian models to have reached the top of her profession. But, Monica decided to study acting, hoping to find parts in films.



In 1990, Monica began to work on television in the film "Vita con i figli" and in 1992 on cinema, as Dracula's bride, in "Bram Stoker's Dracula". Monica was nominated for the César as best promise actress in the movie "L'appartement" In 1996. Other credits include "Malèna" (2000), "Under Suspicion " (2000) and "The Matrix Revolutions" (2003).
